How Much Does a Roof Replacement Cost in Central Florida?
What changes the price
- Size. Priced by the square (100 sq ft). A bigger roof costs more in materials and labor.
- Material. Asphalt shingle is the most common and typically the least expensive. Metal and tile cost more upfront but last longer.
- Pitch. A steep roof takes longer to work on safely, which adds labor cost.
- Tear-off layers. Removing more than one old layer adds disposal and labor cost.
- Decking repair. If the wood underneath is damaged, it needs to be replaced before the new roof goes on.
Repair vs. replacement
Not every roof problem needs a full replacement. A localized leak or a small area of damaged shingles is often a repair. Full replacement usually makes sense when the roof is near the end of its expected life, or when damage is widespread. An inspection is the only reliable way to know which one you need.
Does insurance cover it?
Sometimes. If the damage was caused by a covered event like a storm, your policy may cover some or all of the cost. Normal wear from age generally isn't covered. See our storm damage & insurance page for how we help with claims.
